Airy blue coasts dune endlessly, fiercely glinting. Humming insects joust; kite-like monarchs nibble on petals. Questing rivulets splash towards underworlds, violet where xanthos yields zags.
Thanks to napowrimo.net for the prompt to write an abecedarian poem - I had great fun trying my first ever, and realised belatedly that I should maybe have picked out some likely X and Z words at the outset! Still, it's set in Greece so "xanthos" is totally legit, and that's my defence and I'm sticking to it.
See the new NaPoWriMo poems as they pop up, complete with pics of the handwritten drafts, natter to me, and help me with titles for them, via whatever social media you call home:
All my poems on this site are now #FreeForPoets to play with, to write hybrid forms such as glosas, coupling poems, golden shovels, acrostics, centos, and erasures. Full permissions here: #FreeForPoets.
